Tower Of Belem was built as a fort to defend the city. This stunning UNESCO World Heritage, Tower Of Belem was once the port of embarkation for Portuguese explorers and a ceremonial gateway to the capital. Years later, it was transformed into a lighthouse. It is located near the Jeronimos Monastery, on the banks of the Tagus River with striking architecture and both can be visited on the same day. Moreover, in one of the towers of the castle there is an obscure room, equipped with a periscope through which you can admire a 360 degree panorama of the city. Oceanario de Lisboa is a must-see place to enjoy, if you’re traveling with children. The Oceanarium is the second largest aquarium in Europe. It is one of the largest and most fascinating aquariums in the world and home to an amazing collection of fish and other marine mammals, as well as several species of birds. The Oceanarium has two floors. The main building is surrounded by water, looking like an island standing in the middle of the ocean and you can enter by crossing a footbridge. Elevator de Santa Justa is an elevator in Lisbon with a unique structure that rises above the roofs of the Baixa neighborhood offering amazing views of the winding streets and picturesque squares from the top, making it one of the city’s busiest tourist attractions. The elevator is 45m tall and the structure is built in the same style as the renowned French architect, Eiffel. The elevator has two elevator cabins with wooden interiors, mirrors and windows and can carry 20 people upwards, but can only take 15 people down. There is an up level accessed by spiral stairways which now operates as a cafe but is little bit priced. If you don't want to wait in a queue for the elevator which is running once every 10-15 minutes you may get to the top by foot, or reach the oldest church Igreja do Carmo, there is way right outside that church which will lead you towards the stairs of Santa Justa to view the city. Basilica da Estrela is one of Lisbon's most beautiful monuments and one of its most monumental churches and it became the first church in the world dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in 1789. The Basilica da Estrela is one of the most ornate churches in Portugal. The facade has massive marble statues and the inside, the church is beautifully decorated with pink and black marble. Visiting the Basilica da Estrela Lisbon is free and is open every day from 07:30 am – 8:00 pm between 1:00 pm– 3:30 pm.
